Analyses the cooling load and land use characteristics of a financial business district in Beijing, and designs a hybrid district cooling system considering the available waste heat from a nearby thermal power plant and the surrounding municipal heating networks. This system achieves the utilization of the waste heat by absorption refrigeration and the peak load shifting of power by ice thermal storage. Analyses the energy, environmental and economic benefits of the system.
